Embrey Partners Ltd. to Break Ground in September for Multifamily Project in Orlando’s The Packing District

Embrey Partners Ltd., a nationally recognized multifamily residential developer, will break ground in early September in The Packing District, Orlando’s newest mixed-use development near College Park. Embrey officially closed on the purchase of the property on August 9, 2019.

“We are proud to be part of advancing the vision of Dr. Phillips Charities for this newest community in Orlando,” said Brad Knolle, Executive Vice President for Development with Embrey. “Our plan calls for the construction of luxury residences that we believe will help define the best of The Packing District.”

The Packing District near College Park encompasses 202-acres and is a $480-million transformational project aimed at preserving and recapturing a defining part of Orlando’s history while providing a vibrant base of living and commerce. Historic buildings will be repurposed and integrated with new uses. A new 100-acre public park adjacent to the project – a gift from the Dr. Phillips Charities to the city – will focus on health and wellness, education, arts and community, and sustainability.

The luxury Class A multifamily project developed by Embrey, to be called Cannery at The Packing District, will sit on what is to become a primary point of interest for The Packing District, featuring a grocery store, restaurants and a replica of the original Dr. Phillips Juice Stand – a once iconic building from decades past.

Embrey’s project will provide 307 residential units, the first of which are expected to be available for lease by the second quarter of 2021. Featured amenities include a pool and courtyard; two additional courtyards with entertainment areas; a lounge with roof deck; a resident lounge, a Wi-Fi lounge and game room; fitness facility with yoga and spin rooms; a dog park and dog wash; a bike shop; micro offices and a package room.

“Embrey’s history and vision for developing exceptional residential properties in highly desirable locations fit well with the overall vision that the Dr. Phillips Charities set forth for this redevelopment,” said Trey Embrey, President and CEO of Embrey Partners Ltd. “We are nationally known for developing places and spaces where people want to be and Cannery at The Packing District will more than meet that standard.”

Ken Robinson, President and CEO of Dr. Phillips Charities, which is serving as the community builder on the project, said Embrey is a “key partner for The Packing District who we believe will really help our vision of community, health and wellness come alive.”
