Operator Selected for The Packing District Food Hall
March 31, 2022
Popular Local Brands Will Call the Juice Stand Home
Foxtail Coffee, Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Ravenous Pig Brewery
Team Up Again to Provide Variety for Customers
ORLANDO, Fla. – [December 8, 2022] – Dr. Phillips Charities, the community builder behind the $700-million Packing District project, has announced a group of local brands will occupy the juice stand located at the Northeast corner of Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail including Foxtail Coffee Co., Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, and Ravenous Pig Brewing Co.
An iconic piece of the early Dr. Phillips citrus operations, the replica juice stand will serve as a landmark for The Packing District and pay homage to the citrus industry’s deep history in the area. Buildout is underway on the 1,800 square foot “Juice Stand,” with an expected completion in early 2023. Customers will be able to gather and enjoy their favorite Foxtail coffee, craft beer from Ravenous Pig, and a treat from Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream.
“We are thrilled to have these beloved homegrown businesses join us in The Packing District,” said Dr. Phillips CEO, Ken Robinson. “Just as Dr. Phillips built his citrus business on this very land, it seems like a great fit to support other local endeavors and provide a variety of offerings for residents and visitors.”
With an eye toward preserving the buildings of the past while celebrating the future, the development team is intentionally repurposing as many existing structures as possible. Remnant brick repurposed from old buildings constructed by Dr. Phillips in the mid-1900s have been upcycled as exposed aggregate for the Juice Stand’s counter tops and outside benches.
“We are proud to have been selected to be a part of this historic community in such an iconic location,” said Foxtail Founder, Alex Tchekmeian. “We look forward to providing both a high quality product and experience for our customers.”
Plans for the 202-acre Packing District development have continued to unfold over the past several years. Most recently, Dr. Phillips announced Hospitality HQ and acclaimed Chef Akhtar Nawab as the operator of the Food Hall and a Publix will be located within the District as well. These announcements are part of the overall master plan to develop a unique, eclectic and vibrant mixed-use environment that pays homage to the industrial heritage of the district and the community legacy of Dr. Phillips.
About The Packing District
The Packing District is a 202-acre transformational project centered at the intersection of Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, preserving and recapturing a defining part of our community’s history while providing a vibrant base of living and commerce. Preparations began to ready the site for construction in 2018. The project will continue to mature over the next 10-15 years as laid out in the four-phase master plan.To learn more, visit www.packingdistrictorlando.com and follow The Packing District on Facebook and Instagram.
